1. What is Cellfish?

Cellfish is a place for cellphone users who want more. Cellfish believes that in today's mobile world there should be no limit to what you can see, show and share. That is why we exist. To smash the mobile world wide open for our users. When you join Cellfish you get a service that allows you to truly unlock the media potential of your cellphone. Quite simply, if you have ever stared at your phone and said, "you suck!" Then Cellfish is for you.

2. Is Cellfish really free?

Hell yeah it's free. When you sign up you get access to our whole site, and all of the tools absolutely-100%-completely and totally free. There are no subscriptions, no hidden charges. Nothing.

We also have tons of great free content you can get on your phone, including a whole bunch of premium ringtones that won't get for free anywhere else.

So Cellfish is free, but of course carrier charges may apply. We have no control over what your service provider does. That's why we highly recommend you purchase an unlimited data plan for your phone from your carrier.

3. How do I sign up?

It's easy as cake. (what does that saying mean, anyway?)

4. Why do you need my cellphone number?

Because the "Cell" in Cellfish stands for cellphone. Cellfish is a site that allows you to send and receive, videos and pics, to and from your phone. So if you don't enter your cellphone number you can't do any of those things. But there is no need to worry. We won't spam you, we won't sell your number and we won't call you in the middle of the night just to see how you're doing.

5. What can I do once I've signed up?

The real question is what can't you do? If you see anything online that you want to download to your phone… You got it! If there is a pic or vid on your phone you want to upload to the web and share with all your friends... Done ! You like hot ringtones and wallpapers?... We got 'em… You like RSS feeds? We're all over that.

So we do a lot. Check out some of our how to videos that highlight some of our coolest features.

6. I can't get my content (ringtones, pics & vids) on my Cellphone? What's up?

There are a couple reasons why you would not be able to download our content to your phone. The most common reason is that your phone just doesn't support our site. But if you think this is not the case, please send us an email at [email protected] and we will help you out. Make sure to include your username, cellphone model, and cellphone number.

7. What is my locker?

Your locker is where you keep all your digital stuff. It is a storage place for any pics, videos or mp3s that you've uploaded...

But that ain't all it holds. It also stores anything you've gotten from Cellfish. Put it this way. If you drop your cellphone in the toilet again you won't lose a thing. Why? Cause you stored all of your stuff in the Cellfish locker. Aren't you psyched you found Cellfish? And very soon we'll even be able to store your phone's contacts in there as well.

8. How do I access my locker from my phone?

As soon as you register for Cellfish you will get a text message sent to your cellphone. Click on the link and bookmark it in your phone's browser window. This will make it a lot easier for you to get your stuff later. Then you just put in your username and password and blammo! You're there.

9. Why can't I get into my locker from my cellphone?

The number one reason people can't get into their locker is that they don't have an internet enabled phone. You have to be able to access the web from your phone to use these features. And here's the thing… Cellfish is a data intensive application, so we highly recommend that you get an unlimited data plan with your mobile service provider to avoid additional charges.

10. I just got a new phone. How do I update my Cellfish account?

Congrats on the new phone. We hope it brings you endless joy. Now, click the "My Account" tab on Cellfish.com. Then click the "Personal Info" tab. You will need to have us send you another text message with a link to your locker.

Once you receive this message, click on the link and make sure you bookmark it. You'll need to login with your Cellfish login and password. Once you've accessed the locker on your new phone, we automatically update your phone information.

11. What kind of stuff can I upload?

You can upload videos, images, text and mp3s.

Video Files — mpg, wmv, flv, avi, mov, 3gpp; Max size 24MB
Image Files — bmp, jpg, png, gif, tiff; Max size 24MB
Audio Files — mp3, wav, ogg; Max size 24MB

But listen up. Cellfish is a nice, decent, law abiding kind of place -- you best play by the rules and be nice to your neighbors. All uploads must comply with our content policy in our Terms of Use.

Don't upload stuff that is not yours and don't upload stuff that will offend others. Don't upload stuff that will put Jenna Jameson out of business. You know what we mean.

12. How do I upload content from my phone to my locker?

Got a shot or a video of your friend passed out with marker on his face that you want to share with the world? Here's what you do. Go to "send a message" on your phone. Attach the photo or video you want to send. Then send the message to your email account at Cellfish. Then just check your locker page and there it is... Your passed out buddy in all his glory.

13. I'm getting too many text messages from you. How do I get rid of Cellfish?

First things first. If you are getting too many text message you can totally turn those off. They are meant only to be helpful notifications of your Cellfish activity. To turn them off just click the "My Account" button, then click the "Messages/Alerts" tab. From there you can modify your settings.

If you still want to leave us simply send an unsubscribe email to [email protected]. But please tell us why you are leaving, as we would very much like to solve any problems or complaints you might have had with the site.

14. I've been a Cellfish user for a long time, what happened to my panels and subscriptions?

As I'm sure you noticed, we've switched up our site a bit. The panels were nice, and the subscriptions were cool, but we felt that our users were missing out on a lot of our functionality. So now we've boiled Cellfish down to its essence and we're very excited to give our users the tools they want, without all the clutter. If you really miss the old parts of our site please feel free to email us and let us know what you'd like to see us put back in. We are always trying to improve.

5. It's not working, what's wrong?

Are you certain you're working with an mp3? There are many other audio file types out there, but to create a ringtone you need to work with mp3s. Also, be sure you have the latest version of flash installed and that your browser is up-to-date.
